Agri-to-agri recycling loop

Triowrap silage stretch film should be collected to be recycled into new products. In fact we produce new bale wrap from it. And this is how.

Many years of research, pushing for innovation and testing have made it possible for us, to develop products based on recycled material, that do not only show the same properties as products made only from virgin material, but that also enable a loop within baled silage, as the recycled material used comes from agricultural films that were returned after usage.

In our own recycling plants we sort, wash and shred the used bale wrap before it is transformed into new polyethylene granulates (PCR, Post Consumer Recyclates), which can then be used on our production for manufacturing new bale wrap. Our products with recycled content contain at least 30% PCR and all products are certified by RecyClass, so you can be sure of what you get. Read more about RecyClass certification here.

How a loop inside product is made

Wrapping, storage, opening and disposal were the natural steps in the life of a bale wrapping film. But it doesn't have to end there.

Plastic is a valuable resource, that can be used over and over again. That's why it should be collected after use.

FAQ

What does "loop inside" mean?

All our Triowrap products, which contain post-consumer recycled material, are labelled "loop inside".

Many millions of bales have already successfully been wrapped with our loop inside products proving their premium quality.

We can offer a proven "loop inside" alternative for our whole assortment.

What is PCR?

PCR stands for Post-Consumer Recycled material. This is recycled material which has been in the market and has been used in an application, as for example used agricultural plastics which can then be new plastic products.

In contrast to this "PIR" = Post Industrial Recycled material is recycled material made from the waste in a plastic production process, for example our internal waste can be recycled instead of going to incineration.

This shows that not everything labelled "recycled" is creating a material cycle. Look for products, that are made with PCR.

All our products containing PCR are additionally certified by RecyClass.

How do you secure the quality with recycled material?

Recycled material can be bought in from the market as plastic waste or already processed granulates ready for film extrusion. One of our big advantages is that we have our own recycling lines which enables us to not only process scrap material which arises in our production (Post Industrial Recycled) but also external waste (Post Consumer Recycled).

Having our own recycling plants makes it possible for us to control the quality along the whole recycling process. Before the recycled material is integrated into the manufacturing recipes for new products, all granulates undergo a significant quality control regarding their properties such as grade, shade and shape.

How can I return my used film for recycling?

We are working together with several National collecting Schemes to facilitate the return of used bale wrap so it can be recycled.

Here you can find a list of established systems. If your country is not listed, please contact your local dealer. In several additional countries, initiatives to develop collection and recycling systems are already underway.
