In fact, our PlusTech films have been proven by the Swedish Agricultural University (SLU), where they compared Triowrap plus (19 and 21 microns) against the thicker Triowrap film (25 μm). The bales were wrapped in 4, 6 or 8 layers of film with 50 % overlap and 70 % pre-stretching.
In summary it was concluded that the films tested all were quite equivalent concerning seal integrity and all resulted in silage with good quality. A marked effect appeared due to the number of layers of stretch film used, showing a significantly lower seal integrity when only 4 layers were used - regardless of film type.
The special technology makes it possible to produce a film that is not only thinner, but rather condensed, making it harder for oxygen molecules to leak into the bale.
